Resident Transportation Driver - Part time or full time - Cura of Willmar

Overview

Cura Health is seeking a reliable and dedicated Transportation Driver to join our NEMT team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving and takes pride in safely transporting residents. The driver will primarily transport residents for medical appointments, facility outings, and admissions/discharges (hospitals to nursing homes/assisted living facilities) across the state of Minnesota.

When not actively transporting, the driver will assist with maintenance duties at our St. Joseph location. This role involves operating larger buses and wheelchair-accessible vans.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles, including larger buses and wheelchair vans, to transport residents for medical appointments, recreational outings, admissions, and discharges.
• Provide reliable, on-time transportation while delivering excellent customer service and treating all residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those who use wheelchairs or require passenger assistance.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep vehicles clean and in good working order.
• Follow all traffic laws, company safety policies, and NEMT regulations.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• When not driving, assist with general maintenance tasks at the St. Joseph facility.
• Communicate effectively with residents, facility staff, and the transportation coordinator.

Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness and ability to successfully complete required trainings, including but not limited to:
• Defensive driving
• Passenger assistance
• CPR
• First Aid
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable operating larger buses and wheelchair vans.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs and perform moderate physical tasks.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience driving passenger vans, buses, or providing NEMT/medical transport services.
• Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
