Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday: 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM | Friday: 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM
Duration: 5 Months Contract
Job Description:
Transportation Technician 3 (TMC Tech III) is an advanced technician position that will work indoors and onsite in a control room environment to monitor roadways through closed-circuit cameras (CCTV) and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. The resource will be responsible for managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices.
Duties of the Position:
• Perform functions with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
• Identify complex issues and escalate them to a supervisor when required.
• Operate various computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and roadway incidents and improve traffic conditions.
• Monitor roadways using traffic surveillance cameras and detection systems.
• Monitor all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the traffic management system.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of traffic equipment, computers, and software associated with traffic systems.
• Become familiar with roadways and understand the purpose and location of traffic devices.
• Communicate with multiple agencies to coordinate resources for incidents that may impact regional travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Customer Service experience (highly preferred)
• Experience contributing effectively within a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Operational knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
• Dispatch or call center experience (highly preferred)
