Solution Architect

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and engineer enterprise infrastructure solutions across AWS compute, storage, networking, database, security/IAM, shared services, and Kubernetes-based platforms. The individual will work closely with Application Architects and Development teams to translate logical application designs into secure, scalable, highly available infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate application architecture and requirements into infrastructure-aligned solution designs.
• Design solutions across Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, IAM, Security, Kubernetes and AWS platform services.
• Create detailed technical designs, architecture diagrams, deployment specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Partner with engineering teams through build, deployment, testing, validation, and production readiness.
• Design for high availability, resiliency, multi-region deployment, and disaster recovery.
• Integrate enterprise shared services and security controls into AWS-based application platforms.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS architecture and engineering.
• AWS Landing Zone concepts including:
  • Account structures and multi-account environments
  • VPC, Security Groups, Cloud WAN
  • PrivateLink and VPC Endpoints
  • EBS, EFS, FSx and S3
  • Network Load Balancers
• EC2, OpenShift and/or Amazon EKS/Kubernetes
• SDN/networking and F5 GTM
• Identity & Access Management, Identity Federation, Secrets Management and PKI
• Database architecture and availability including AWS RDS and Aurora Global Database
• Strong understanding of OS, host-based firewalls, application stacks and network architecture.

Shared Services / Integration Experience:

Experience integrating applications with technologies such as:

• Apigee – API Gateway
• Ping – Reverse Proxy / Identity
• Redis – Database/Caching
• Confluent Kafka – Streaming
• IBM MQ – Messaging
• HashiCorp Vault – Secrets Management
• Snowflake – Database/Data Access

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering/architecture experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of cross-functional engineering experience spanning multiple disciplines such as compute, storage, networking, databases, shared services, security and AWS.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Application Development, Architecture, Infrastructure and Engineering teams.
