Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our team supporting internet banking applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Spring Boot microservices, Java 21, containerized deployments, and modern front-end frameworks, with demonstrable use of GenAI tools to accelerate delivery and code quality. The candidate will be able to design and prototype secure solutions, contribute across the SDLC, and guide teams toward stable, scalable deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, enhances, tests, supports, and debugs software applications for business and support functions.


• Leads technical design, provides strategic direction, and contributes to system architecture for initiatives.


• Builds and maintains Spring Boot microservices on Java 21 with secure, scalable patterns.


• Creates prototypes and UML diagrams to capture current and target states.


• Collaborates with architects and business partners to implement security controls for banking applications.


• Coordinates with external programming teams to deliver on time and within budget.


• Provides estimates, feedback, and technical guidance to project managers and developers.


• Adheres to Agile practices, TDD, CI, and code review standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Spring Boot and Java 21 for microservices development.


• Hands-on experience with GenAI tools, with ability to deliver approximately 50% of project outputs using GenAI-assisted workflows. Candidates must describe tool usage, coding percentage, and outcomes on the resume.


• Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift or similar.


• Front-end development with at least one RIA framework: Angular, React, or jQuery. AngularJS exposure preferred.


• ORM and persistence frameworks such as Hibernate, JPA, MyBatis/iBatis, and messaging with Kafka.


• Source control with Bitbucket or GitHub, build using Maven, and testing with JUnit and Mockito within TDD and CI pipelines.


• IDE proficiency in Eclipse or IntelliJ.


• Relational databases and SQL with Oracle, Sybase, or SQL Server.


• Front-end fundamentals: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Ajax, and SASS.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in banking or financial services security patterns and threat mitigation.


• Background in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and practical application of GenAI in SDLC.

Additional Details & Submission Guidelines:

• Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week in Plano, TX. Onsite from day 1.


• Target start month: September or October.


• Glider assessment with ID verification required.
