Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with Security Clearance

Job Description: Overview: DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, and high availability solutions. This role will involve managing and optimizing database systems to support mission-critical applications for our Department of Defense (DoD) clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database solutions using Oracle, SQL Server, and/or MySQL.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high performance and availability.
• Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with developers, application owners, and other stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
• Monitor database health and performance, and proactively address any issues or bottlenecks.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, and/or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Proficiency in SQL and other database scripting languages.
• Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certification in Oracle Database Administration (OCA/OCP) or SQL Server Database Administration (MCSA/MCP).
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions, such as Amazon RDS or Azure SQL Database.
• Experience with database migration and integration projects.
• Knowledge of Agile/DevSecOps methodologies and tools.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
