Job Description

Role: Technical Product Manager Software Platforms & User Experience

Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid from day 1)

Duration: Long term

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, highly collaborative Technical Product Manager with a strong software background and an eye for user experience to support client's Environmental & Supply Chain Innovation organization.
The team is developing and enhancing an internal software platform used by cross-functional business teams to capture, manage, and analyze metrics associated with 2030 environmental goals.
While the engineering team has established the technical foundation, there is an opportunity to strengthen business engagement, improve usability, and develop a cohesive product roadmap.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering, business stakeholders, and end users, bringing technical understanding, product strategy, and design thinking to deliver an intuitive and effective platform.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the product roadmap for an internal software platform supporting environmental and supply chain initiatives.
  • Partner closely with software engineers, business stakeholders, and end users to understand needs, challenges, and priorities.
  • Evaluate the existing platform from a user experience perspective, identifying opportunities to improve navigation, usability, and overall functionality.
  • Improve how users interact with the platform, including entering, retrieving, extracting, and analyzing data.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable product priorities and technical requirements.
  • Consolidate feedback from multiple business teams into a unified product vision rather than implementing isolated requests.
  • Proactively identify product improvements and recommend solutions based on user needs and business impact.
  • Facilitate discussions between technical and nontechnical stakeholders, managing competing priorities and driving alignment.
  • Establish clear communication, transparency, and visibility into project progress, decisions, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand technical limitations, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted tools and workflows where appropriate to support product management and design activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in technical product management, software project management, or a closely related role within a software development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with software engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Solid technical aptitude and the ability to understand software architecture, engineering processes, and technical trade-offs without necessarily being a hands-on developer.
  • Strong product thinking with an understanding of UX/UI principles, user journeys, and intuitive software design.
  • Proven ability to develop product roadmaps, prioritize requirements, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders who may have competing requirements or priorities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions, make independent recommendations, and influence experienced engineers and business leaders.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication and alignment with the broader team.
  • Experience improving existing software products or internal enterprise platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous software engineering experience with a transition into product or program management.
  • Background in UX/UI design, design thinking, or product design.
  • Experience managing internal enterprise applications, data platforms, or business-facing software tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development, design, or product management tools.
  • Experience supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives in a large technology organization.
