The Role
- Prepare specimens and perform various nondestructive testing (NDT) processes such as Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on materials and welds.
- Review internal test orders and conduct testing according to specified requirements and industry standards.
- Accurately record and document all testing results in the laboratory database and ERP system.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in the nondestructive testing of products and materials.
- Identify defects in solid materials using various NDT techniques, including ultrasonic and radiographic imaging.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on NDT findings and assist in evaluating the root cause of testing failures.
What You'll Need
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in quality control practices.
- Working knowledge of material specifications and generally accepted quality standards.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently use common hand and bench measurement tools.
- Familiarity with the calibration of measuring and test equipment.
- Experience in the safe handling of materials in accordance with quality practices.
- Ability to read and interpret ASTM, ASME, and similar testing standards, as well as customer-specific requirements.
