Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

A premier public-listed global investment bank is seeking a motivated and talented Associate / Senior Associate for their growing middle market and small-cap investment banking and capital markets practice in New York. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the execution of equity and equity‑linked transactions, working alongside seasoned senior bankers as they build out the US investment banking and capital markets business covering a wide range of industry sectors. You will be reporting to the Head of Capital Markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support execution across a range of products - equity transactions (including IPOs, Follow-Ons, CMPO, PIPE, Block Trades, Convertible Bonds, and other Equity-Linked offerings, etc.), M&A (including fairness opinion) and other advisory work such as private placements, reverse mergers and deSPAC transactions

· Work through complex and multi-faceted situations requiring an understanding of the Investment Banking functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, supporting the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

· Manage day-to-day deal timelines, coordinate across internal desks, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and external counsels on transactions

· Support origination by helping identify equity issuance opportunities across sectors, developing client-ready market update materials and contributing to pitch strategy alongside Senior bankers

· Provide clients with real-time market color, investor demand analysis and pricing recommendations, synthesizing inputs from Syndicate, Sales and trading into actionable advice

· Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors to inform deal structuring and book-building strategy

· Contribute to the development of thought leadership on ECM market trends, sector dynamics and capital markets strategy for client dialogue

· Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with legal, compliance and external advisors to ensure clean, timely execution

· Produce and quality-check the work product on pitchbooks, roadshow materials and transaction analyses, and help direct the output of Analysts on live deals

· Support and help develop junior staff across procedures, products and markets

QUALIFICATIONS

· Undergraduate Degree required, MBA or other Graduate Degree is a plus but not required; minimum 2 years of associate-level experience (roughly 2–5 years total), investment banking, capital markets, private equity experience preferred with meaningful ECM and/or syndicate transaction experience

· Interest in ECM dynamics and securities industry experience; candidates from smaller, boutique or international (including Asian) banks are welcomed

· Strong written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex market dynamics into a clear narrative

· Strong ability to manage multiple live transactions as well as active pitch calendar with limited oversight

· Collaborative mindset, professionalism, and the ability to thrive under tight timelines

· Strong critical thinking, risk management, client presence, and communication skills

· Ability to support and contribute to business strategy and goals

· Ability to help mentor and develop junior talent

· Understanding of AI tools and applications

LICENSING & COMPLIANCE

SIE, FINRA Series 63 (or 66), and Series 79 required within 90 days of hire if not transferable. Subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements. Travel up to 50% of the time.
