Product Designer

Full-time<br />Research &amp; Development<br />Cotes Mill, Loughborough deVOL Kitchens is one of the leading and most highly regarded kitchen companies in the UK, with manufacturing and design offices based in Leicestershire, London, Bath, New York and LA.

We are looking for a highly motivated, capable, and friendly person to join our Product Design team at our Leicestershire office.<br />We are ideally looking for someone with an industrial / product design background. You will be working closely with our Research &amp; Development team to help develop new kitchen and accessory ranges.

The Research &amp; Development team is involved in all aspects of the design and development of new and existing products and accessories.

Key Responsibilities Research (market research, materials, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and manufacturers).<br />Development of new and existing products.<br />Prototyping.<br />Producing CAD drawings (2D &amp; 3D) and information for product documentation.<br />Sample ordering, reviewing, and testing.<br />Communicating with suppliers and manufacturers.<br />Initial production of new products.<br />Continued product quality control.<br />Product costing and profitability.<br />Liaising with other departments.<br />General administration.<br />Product compliance, certification (UK &amp; US), and Intellectual Property.<br />You may be required to help out in other departments during busy periods or to help introduce new products and processes into their production.

Skills &amp; Attributes<br />We would love you to – Have a creative qualification.<br />Be able to prioritise and plan your workload.<br />Show initiative and be self-motivated.<br />Work well in a team and independently.<br />Have excellent attention to detail.<br />Be experienced in 2D and 3D CAD (Autocad/Draftsight &amp; Solidworks).<br />Have 2 or more years of industry experience (preferable but not essential)<br />Have a genuine passion for homeware products and interiors.<br />We are looking for candidates who are ambitious and keen to have a career in the furniture and homeware making industry.
