Strategic Reporting Analyst

  • Employment type: Temporary full-time up to 30 June 2027 with possibility of extension or ongoing employment
  • Salary: $116,981 pa - $129,492 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role

Join Women, Family & Community Safety and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis and advice. Working closely with stakeholders, you will support financial planning, performance monitoring and governance, helping drive business outcomes and community impact.

What you'll do
  • Develop and monitor program and project budgets, forecasts and financial performance
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and produce clear, insightful reports
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including variance analysis, forecasting and management commentary.
  • Partner with program managers and stakeholders to provide financial advice and support informed business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, policies, delegations, funding agreements and audit requirements.
  • Support financial transaction activities, including purchase orders, invoices and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance financial reporting tools, systems and processes to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Improve financial controls, record keeping practices and governance processes.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on financial processes, systems and reporting requirements.
What we're looking for
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting within a large or complex organisation.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information.
  • Experience using financial and reporting systems such as SAP, Analysis for Office, Power BI or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes, controls or reporting practices.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
