How We Work:

Our hybrid work style (3 days in the London office) gives us the face-to-face time to have creative conversations, meaningful meetings, make quick decisions and build relationships. And it's flexible enough to give you the space to do your best work.

About the Role:

As a Design Operations Lead you will support the day-to-day operations of Gen's global product design organisation. You will work alongside product designers, researchers, design leaders, and cross-functional partners to improve the workflows, tools, and systems that help teams do their best work.

You will bring structure to planning, delivery, handoffs, reviews, and team rituals. By making ways of working clearer and easier to scale, you will help the design organisation operate with greater visibility, consistency, and focus and help teams deliver better outcomes for our customers.

About the Team:

You will be part of a global product design organisation working across Gen's family of digital safety brands. The team brings together product designers, researchers, design leaders, and cross-functional partners who collaborate to solve meaningful problems for people navigating the digital world.

Design Operations sits at the centre of this network, helping teams connect their plans, tools, rituals, and documentation so that creative work can move forward with less friction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and facilitate core planning and collaboration cadences, including sprint planning, milestone reviews, retrospectives, and design critiques

  • Identify and implement workflow and process improvements, including automation, documentation, and tooling strategies that improve visibility and reduce friction

  • Partner with design leads to create clear timelines, milestone plans, and delivery checkpoints that support accountability and informed decision-making

  • Own and evolve project-tracking systems such as JIRA and Figma ensuring they remain useful, current, and aligned to team needs

  • Maintain team documentation, briefs, review records, and other operational resources so that information is easy to find and act on

  • Create structure around design handoffs, stakeholder reviews, and team rituals to empower designers and improve cross-functional collaboration

  • Support continuous improvement through feedback loops, retrospective facilitation, and structured iteration on processes and ways of working

About You:

You are a thoughtful organiser who understands that strong operations should enable great design, not get in its way. You are comfortable bringing clarity to complex work, coordinating across different perspectives, and improving processes in a fast-moving environment. You have a genuine appreciation for design and can build trust with creative, technical, and business partners.

Education: a degree or equivalent practical experience in design operations, UX, project or programme management, business, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in design operations, UX programme coordination, project management, or a related role

  • Experience supporting a design, research, product, or similarly collaborative team in a complex organisation

  • Experience improving workflows, planning cadences, documentation, or operational systems

  • Experience working with modern design and delivery tools, including Figma, JIRA, ClaudeCode

Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels of seniority

  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments

  • Strong planning, facilitation, and project coordination skills

  • Ability to analyse how work gets done, identify friction, and turn improvements into practical, repeatable ways of working

  • Confidence learning and managing tools, systems, and documentation practices that support design teams

Personal Attributes:

  • Curious, pragmatic, and motivated by continuous improvement

  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with a calm and constructive approach

  • Proactive and dependable, with strong ownership of details and follow-through

  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving, global environment

  • Passionate about creating the conditions for designers and partners to do their best work

Benefits:

At Gen Digital, we are committed to supporting our employees' well-being and professional growth. Our comprehensive benefits package for UK team members includes:

  • Health & Wellbeing: company-paid private medical insurance, dental and vision benefits, plus access to mental health and wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Financial Security: a Group Personal Pension Plan with auto-enrolment for eligible employees, together with the opportunity to purchase Gen stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off: available once statutory annual leave has been used, plus company holidays and a range of leave options to support personal and family needs

  • Tuition Reimbursement: up to £5,150 per calendar year for job-related accredited courses that support career development within Gen

  • Wellness Reimbursement: up to $450 per year to cover fitness-related expenses

  • Sustainability Allowance: a $500 annual sustainable home improvement allowance

  • Additional Perks: access to adoption assistance, family support services, legal assistance plans and exclusive employee discounts

What's Next:

Your CV will be reviewed by the recruiter and hiring manager to understand the scope of your work, the impact you've delivered, and how your experience aligns with the role. If shortlisted, the recruiter will be in touch to set up a conversation to learn more about your background, what's motivating you, why you're interested in Gen and our products, and to go through the interview process.

Gen is an equal opportunity employer, and we're committed to fair, inclusive practices at every stage of the candidate and employee journey. Employment decisions are based on merit, experience and business needs.
