Job Description

Elite Technical is seeking a Lead Java Developer to support our customer, a major Healthcare payor organization, in the Reston VA area. We are seeking Java Developers who can build applications on top of MongoDB, along with strong APIM tool knowledge (IBM preferred). Responsibilities include:

- Expertise in creating APIs preferably in cloud/EKS with cloud databases ( PostGres, MongoDB etc) and onboarding APIs on APIM gateway ( such as IBM APIC )
- Excellent object-oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with foundation and expert knowledge in the area of Web Services (Restful, SOAP, API), Core Java and J2EE standards.
- Produce high quality detail design documents, coding, code review and unit testing.
- Provide insight into software development best practices and lifecycle.
- Proven strong technical skill and development in all phases of the SDLC.
- Participate in projects as a member of an Agile/Scrum team including project estimation, task creation and driving to complete tasks in each sprint in a timely manner.
-Mentor other developers on the team

This position is hybrid (1 day onsite in Reston VA per week is required) and requires a final round F2F interview. This position is a long term contract opportunity!

Required Skills

-Education Level: Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
-Experience: 8 years+ as a Java Developer, providing Software design and development, software test and evaluation, software requirements management.
- Prior experience with onboarding web services on to APIM platform (preferably IBM API Connect)
- Experience building web services with MongoDB as the backend is must have. Must be able to build applications ontop of MongoDB (critically important)
- Expertise in creating APIs preferably in cloud/EKS with cloud databases ( PostGres, MongoDB etc) and onboarding APIs on APIM gateway ( such as IBM APIC )
-Agile/Scrum framework experience required.
- Must have strong Spring Boot framework knowledge.
- Strong in web service developments (REST API, SOAP)
- Strong understanding APIs architectures, and experience of certificate, API communications with other systems along with different authentication methods.
- Solid hands-on experience in Java/J2E, Spring, Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate, JMS, XML, XSLT, including detail design, coding, and unit testing.
- Excellent object-oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with foundation and expert knowledge in the area of Web Services (Restful, SOAP, API), Core Java and J2EE standards.
- Implement secure and scalable API solutions to meet business requirements.
- Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues
- Experience/knowledge in Health Care industry is plus.
- GraphQL background is highly desirable

- Must have strong MongoDB experience (NoSQL DB with their own query language). Must know how to build applications on top of MongoDB.
- Must have skills to negotiate, collaborate with downstream applications in terms of requirements and scope definitions. 100% hands on
- This role comes in after they load data into MongoDB, teams come forward and ask for specialized enterprise level services around web services/integrations.
- API Connect, understands how to onboard a service into MongoDB,
- They are moving away from Cloudera and moving towards MongoDB (Cloudera background not required).
- GraphQL background is highly desirable
