End User System Engineer

Need VMWare Horizon

1. Package and deploy applications for the end user environment using VMware AppStacks.
2. Manage and preserve end user profile settings using VMware UEM/DEM.
3. Troubleshoot application installation, performance, and runtime issues across desktop and mobile environments.
4. Maintain OS base builds including feature updates, software patches, and vulnerability remediation.
5. Lead and support meetings with Business, IT, and Security stakeholders to define requirements and communicate environment changes.
6. Identify and drive innovation in the end user experience; challenge legacy processes with data-driven proposals.
7. Apply expert-level knowledge of EUC concepts, processes, and procedures to complex technical assignments.
8. Design and implement automation solutions within the end user experience space.
9. Design, develop, debug, and implement software in support of end user engineering objectives.
10. Troubleshoot production issues related to desktop and mobile software applications.
11. Resolve systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform challenges.
12. Evaluate and recommend application software packages, integration approaches, and testing tools.
13. Provide tactical and strategic input on the overall End User experience roadmap.
14. Participate in on-call support rotation per assigned schedule.
15. Document changes, policies, procedures, and architecture diagrams.
16. Provide cross-training and mentoring to team members.
17. Project manage and lead multiple concurrent projects across varying sizes and timelines.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Qualifications: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form to audiences ranging from end users to executive leadership.
2. Structured problem-solving skills with ability to articulate issues, root causes, solution options, and recommended path forward.
3. Experience leading or managing at least one cross-functional project from initiation through delivery.
4. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as part of a team.
5. Available for on-call rotation per team schedule.
6. Experience in a regulated financial services or capital markets environment preferred.
7. Familiarity with ITIL service management practices preferred.
8. Experience with enterprise observability or monitoring tools preferred.

Technical Skills:

1. Demonstrated ability to package applications using VMware AppStacks for VDI environments.
2. Ability to configure and manage VMware UEM/DEM for end user profile and environment settings.
3. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop and mobile application issues in a production enterprise environment.
4. Proven experience maintaining OS base builds including security patching and vulnerability remediation.
5. Ability to design, write, and deploy automated workflows or scripts that measurably reduce manual effort.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent professional experience.
2. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Windows desktop OS environments (Windows 10/11 in an enterprise domain).
3. Minimum 3 years of experience deploying applications across enterprise desktops using modern tools.
4. Minimum 3 years of experience writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or VBScript.
5. Minimum 3 years of experience packaging software for enterprise deployment.
6. Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows profile management.
7. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining a VDI environment using VMware Horizon.
8. Minimum 1 year in a desktop engineering or dedicated end user experience engineering role.
9. VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) and Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-102) preferred.
