Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a well-established public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of tax engagements while contributing to tax planning, compliance, and client advisory services.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in public accounting, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality work in a collaborative and professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, LLCs, trusts, and individuals.
  • Prepare complex individual tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Research federal, state, and local tax laws to support compliance and planning initiatives.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical planning recommendations.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer tax-related questions, and resolve issues.
  • Assist with tax planning, consulting engagements, and year-round advisory services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.
  • Prepare organized workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Stay current on tax legislation, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
  • 3–5 years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax.
  • Extensive experience preparing business entity and complex individual tax returns.
  • Tax experience must significantly outweigh audit or assurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a client-service mindset.
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
