£600-650 p/d outside IR35 GBP

Remote WORKING
Type: Contract

AI Architect

Rate: £600-£650 per day

IR35: Inside IR35

Location: Predominantly remote with very occasional travel to London

We are looking for an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled services across a major public-sector programme.

You will take AI solutions from concept to live service, ensuring they are scalable, secure, resilient and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead AI-focused architecture and produce HLDs, LLDs and ADRs.
  • Develop target and transition architectures and provide design assurance.
  • Design scalable model-serving and inference solutions.
  • Define MLOps capabilities covering CI/CD, monitoring, drift detection and retraining.
  • Guide data-science teams working with computer-vision models.
  • Design secure AWS, hybrid-cloud, edge and high-volume imagery solutions.
  • Support AI assurance covering privacy, transparency, bias and fairness.
Required Experience
  • Strong technical or enterprise architecture background.
  • Experience taking AI/ML solutions into production.
  • Knowledge of TOGAF and architecture-modelling approaches.
  • Strong computer-vision knowledge, including CNNs, vision transformers, detection and segmentation.
  • Experience with model optimisation, including quantisation, pruning, ONNX or TensorRT.
  • Strong MLOps and machine-learning lifecycle knowledge.
  • AWS experience, ideally including S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS and SQS.
  • Understanding of Secure by Design, NCSC guidance and sensitive government environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and technical-assurance skills.
This role would suit an AI Architect, Machine Learning Architect or Technical Architect with strong production AI experience.
