Job Description
We are currently seeking an ICT Cyber Security Specialist in a Consulting position to join our team supporting the Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems (EWIS) Maritime SPO.
Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, as part of a collaborative team and reporting to the SPO Security Manager, you will support ICT and cyber security activities across EWIS Maritime environments. You will contribute to strengthening cyber security capability while supporting the ongoing operation and compliance of Defence ICT systems.
You will work closely with Defence stakeholders to support the secure operation of ICT environments across a range of facilities, including offices, laboratories, and integration and test centres. You will ensure systems, networks and data environments meet Defence cyber security and information assurance requirements.
This role will suit someone with a strong interest in cyber security and information systems who can work both independently and as part of a team. You will also enjoy working in complex environments, building strong stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the delivery of secure and resilient Defence systems.
What You Will Be Involved InSupporting the management and security of Defence ICT systems and environments
- Assisting with the implementation and compliance of Defence security frameworks including ISM, DSPF and PSPF
- Contributing to cyber security risk management activities, including identification and mitigation of risks relating to Defence technologies
- Supporting security activities across multiple Defence facilities within the Edinburgh Parks precinct
- Working with technical and program stakeholders to ensure systems and networks meet security requirements
- Providing input into cyber security processes, practices and capability development
- Periodic interstate travel to support EWIS Maritime business and security operations
- Supporting secure environments including Zone 4 and Zone 5 facilities, with the opportunity to expand knowledge across broader security domains including physical security considerations
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or Software Engineering (with a focus on system security), or equivalent experience working within a Defence information or system security environment
A recognised professional certification such as CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, SANS 401, CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISA or CRISC (or working towards)
Experience working with Defence ICT systems or environments
Demonstrated knowledge of Defence security frameworks including ISM, DSPF and PSPF
Working knowledge of networks, systems and/or data links used within Defence environments
Experience supporting cyber security risk management activities, including identifying and managing risks associated with Defence technologies
Experience working within Zone 4 or Zone 5 secure environments
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive and self-starting approach, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and Defence stakeholders
Experience with electromagnetic warfare systems or related Defence capability will also be highly regarded.
- A willingness to travel interstate periodically to support program activities
Candidates must hold a minimum NV2 security clearance and be willing to uplift to PV clearance if required.
IRAP qualifications are highly desirable, including at least one certification from each category:
CISM, CISSP, GSLC
