Job Description

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking an Electrical Construction Field Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Hayward, California.

Summary

The Electrical Construction Field Engineering Supervisor supervises technicians and may perform on-site installation of electronic, electro-mechanical, and low voltage electrical equipment. This job may include many aspects of field support, and is not limited to supervision, equipment installation, system hardware and software configuration, PC usage, and IP telephony/networking/wireless networking. The Electrical Construction Field Engineering Supervisor shall support the Installation Manager in evaluating and determining most cost effective and practical method on installation to minimize customer downtime and expense. The Electrical Construction Field Engineering Supervisor shall assist in evaluation and preparation of proposals for time, labor and materials.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee and support equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Generates documentation supporting installation activity to include updates and status.
  • Assist in the evaluation and generation of proposals that detail time, labor, materials, and equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Works closely with the Installation Manager when interfacing with the various customers to determine the best solution.
  • Assists with the training of technicians on newly installed equipment.
  • Supports Installation Manager with preparation of as-built documentation in addition to procedures for installation of new equipment.
  • Supports Installation Manager in the coordination of subcontractors assisting in field support efforts.
  • Supervises labor required to perform task.
  • Provides support for installation technicians.
  • Ensure company policies are being enforced, and safety guidelines and procedures are followed.

Requirements and QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Typically requires 6 years of experience (1 year in leadership role)
  • Detailed record keeping through observation
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of roadway electrical and civil construction
  • Experience with equipment operation (aerial lifts, commercial vehicles)
  • Experience with vast array of hand tools and operation
  • Experience with ITS device installation and troubleshooting
  • Must maintain driver's license in good standing as verified by Transcore.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually, based upon experience.
