Mainframe Business Systems Analyst

Mainframe Business Systems Analyst IT L3 Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid of 4 days/week onsite with 1 day/week remote)
Duration: July 2026 March 31, 2028

This Mainframe Business Analyst will be focusing on production support and project related work for our clients Parts Applications team. Assigned units of work vary from > 100 hour enhancements, up to team member on a large project. Breakdown of focus is the following:

• Analysis/Design roughly 30-40%
• Development (code, unit test, int test, system test, UAT, Implement, Warranty) roughly 30-40%
• Supporting Architectural solutions roughly 20-40%

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Serve as a Mainframe Systems SME and assist the Project Manager and/or Team Manager on various Parts Applications projects.
• Analyze business requirements and create and manage the completion of units of work completed by the successful candidate and other team members.
• Gather requirements, perform functional and detailed analysis/design, perform testing (unit, integration, system, user acceptance), and support implementation, documentation, and warranty efforts.
• Define architectural solutions to meet application requirements.
• Provided status to Project Manager/Lead, as needed.

Required Skills and Expertise:

• Proficient in COBOL,CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM,DB2, and System Development Life Cycle Concepts.
• Working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture, and implementation of medium to large scale systems across multiple platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the enterprise Understanding of technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices.
• Technical aptitude of multi tier and cross platform architectures across the enterprise.
• Understanding in the information technology landscape stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards, and trends.
• Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• Experience working in Microsoft development technologies ( i.e. .Net core, MVC.Net, C#, and Angular is a plus).
• Knowledge or Automotive Parts Systems, Warehousing and Supply Chain is a plus.
