Job Description

Title - Copilot AI Architect (Power Platform Governance)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Copilot AI Architect to lead the design, governance, and enterprise adoption of Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform solutions. This is a senior architecture role focused on governance strategy, platform architecture, client advisory, and AI enablement rather than hands-on application development.

The ideal candidate will define enterprise governance frameworks for Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform, establish secure environment strategies, guide platform adoption, and work directly with business leaders, architecture teams, and Information Security stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure AI solutions.

This individual will serve as the technical and strategic advisor, ensuring AI solutions are built using enterprise governance best practices while mentoring engineering teams throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise architecture and governance for Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Design and implement governance models covering environments, security, connectors, lifecycle management, and enterprise AI adoption.
  • Define Power Platform environment strategies, including Development, UAT, Production, and sandbox environments.
  • Establish governance for environment provisioning, access management, security groups, and platform administration within the client tenant.
  • Configure and oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, connector governance, and platform security standards.
  • Partner with client executives, architects, product owners, and Information Security teams to define governance strategy and platform roadmap.
  • Lead discussions around Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, custom Copilot agents, and enterprise AI governance.
  • Analyze existing tenant configurations and recommend secure architecture and governance improvements.
  • Define intake processes and governance standards for enterprise AI agent creation and deployment.
  • Develop governance frameworks that balance innovation, security, compliance, and ease of use for business users.
  • Drive platform architecture decisions and establish enterprise best practices for AI solution delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable architecture and implementation strategies.
  • Mentor AI Engineers and Solution Developers by providing architectural guidance, governance direction, and technical leadership.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure enterprise AI solutions align with security, compliance, and organizational standards.
  • Support executive-level architecture reviews and present governance recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Microsoft technologies and enterprise solution architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • Deep experience with Power Platform governance and enterprise administration.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Power Platform Admin Center
    • Environment provisioning
    • Environment strategy
    • Development, UAT, and Production lifecycle management
    • Security Groups
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
    • Connector governance
    • Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE)
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity/security best practices.
  • Experience designing governance models for enterprise AI and low-code platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Platform administration.
  • Experience working with enterprise Information Security and Compliance teams.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
  • Proven experience mentoring technical teams and providing architectural leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Microsoft Copilot Studio in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Compliance solutions.
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI governance and enterprise AI adoption strategies.
  • Experience designing enterprise governance frameworks for generative AI solutions.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert certification or related Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience working within large enterprise or Fortune 500 environments.
