The Human Resources Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting our dynamic and growing organization. As the trusted advisor to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Operations Manager will partner both strategically and tactically to ensure the effective management of HR operations, focusing on Payroll and Benefits administration. The role demands a proactive, innovative, and highly organized professional capable of managing diverse HR functions including but not limited to day-to-day operations, onboarding, and ongoing employee support. The Human Resources Operations Manager is required to perform, but not limited to, the following duties and professionally undertake the following key responsibilities:
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across multiple states.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries, resolving issues promptly and ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction.
- Coordinate with finance and external partners to reconcile benefits statements and ensure accurate and timely payments to providers.
Strategic HR Partnership:
- Work closely with the VP of Human Resources to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support the organization's goals.
- Analyze trends in compensation, benefits, and other HR areas to recommend adjustments and enhancements.
- Assist in the development and execution of workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development strategies.
HR Operations and Compliance:
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are up to date, compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, and consistently applied across the organization.
- Manage the HR information system (HRIS) to ensure accurate employee records and reporting.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the organization.
- Handle day-to-day HR tasks, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, and exit interviews.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.
- Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
- If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.
- Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT. We cover clients from the West to East Coast, work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays under industry demands.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position between 1% - 10%.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR operations with a strong focus on payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a remote and multi-state environment.
- Proven ability to work strategically and tactically within the HR domain.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
