Role - AI First Lead Developer

Job description

Needed for a large-scale platform modernization program, migrating a legacy monolithic application into a cloud-native, API-first and event-driven architecture, to be implemented in an AI-first operating model using Spec-Driven Development, where specifications govern design, build and test, and AI coding agents are used across the SDLC under human review.

Responsibilities & Expectations

• Lead a pod of eight engineers; own technical execution, sprint delivery and code quality.
• Operate the spec-driven development workflow end to end - specification, plan, task breakdown, generation, validation and review.
• Act as merge authority; critically review AI-generated code against standards, security and coverage thresholds.
• Coach engineers on specification authoring, agent steering and output verification.
• Contribute reusable prompts, patterns and context assets to the project knowledge layer.
• Own test-first discipline within the pod and ensure automated coverage gates are met.

Experience & Expertise

• 10 14 years in software engineering with 3+ years leading development teams.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Full-Stack .NET, React and TypeScript; working knowledge of Kafka.
• Demonstrable experience using AI coding assistants on live projects - not evaluation or pilot exposure.
• Microservices, REST API design and cloud-native delivery on Azure or AWS with mature CI/CD.
• Strong test automation practice across unit, integration and end-to-end layers.
• Ability to coach and raise the technical bar across a team.
