Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems administration, server management, automation, security, networking, monitoring, and production support.
The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, security, database, and DevOps teams to ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of mission-critical systems.
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in Unix/Linux Systems Administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar Linux distributions.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing enterprise production environments with high availability and 24x7 support.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux system performance, capacity management, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with shell scripting using Bash, KornShell (KSH), or similar.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with VMware, virtualization, and/or cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux security, user/access management, permissions, certificates, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, middleware, and infrastructure services.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Unix/Linux servers.
  • Perform operating system upgrades, patching, hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, availability, and resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, network, and application-related issues.
  • Manage Linux filesystems, LVM, RAID, NFS, mounts, permissions, and storage.
  • Configure and maintain system services including SSH, NTP, DNS, FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, cron, and systemd.
  • Develop and maintain Bash/KSH scripts to automate administrative and operational tasks.
  • Automate server provisioning, configuration, patching, and deployment using Ansible or other automation tools.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, sudo access, SSH keys, permissions, and security policies.
  • Implement Linux security hardening and remediate vulnerabilities identified through security scans.
  • Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Work with networking, storage, database, middleware, application, and security teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in production deployments, maintenance windows, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in on-call and 24x7 production support as required.
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization, automation, cloud migration, and DevOps initiatives.
