Role Description This full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role is based in Mumbai and focuses on driving new business and deepening relationships with existing clients. The person in this role will identify and qualify new prospects, lead outreach and pitch meetings, and collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and experiential solutions. They will manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including pipeline development, forecasting, negotiations, and contract closure. The Business Development Manager will work closely with account, creative, and production teams to ensure client needs are understood and met, and will monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform growth strategies. The role also involves preparing presentations and reports, representing the agency at industry events, and maintaining accurate records in CRM and sales tools.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers, generating qualified leads, and converting them into long-term clients.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, understands consultative selling, and can confidently represent a creative agency.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
  • Identify and research prospective clients across industries.
  • Generate new business through LinkedIn, email outreach, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Schedule meetings and presentations with decision-makers.
  • Understand client requirements and identify opportunities for Clover's services.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with HR leaders, Marketing teams, Brand Managers, Procurement teams and CXOs.
  • Maintain regular follow-ups with prospects.
  • Ensure an excellent client experience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop long-term relationships that result in repeat business.
Proposal & Pitch Management
  • Work closely with the founders and internal teams to prepare proposals and presentations.
  • Coordinate quotations, budgets and pitch documents.
  • Support the team during client presentations and pitches.
Market Intelligence
  • Track industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Identify new sectors and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain an updated database of prospects and clients.
Sales Reporting
  • Maintain CRM records and sales pipeline.
  • Share weekly updates on leads, meetings, conversions and forecasts.
  • Work towards monthly and quarterly business development targets.

Preferred Experience
  • 2-3 years in Business Development, Client Servicing, Sales or Partnerships.
  • Experience in an event agency, branding agency, advertising agency, experiential marketing, media or B2B services is preferred.
  • Existing network in HR, Marketing or Corporate Communications is an advantage.
