Apex Systems is hiring a Lead IT Project Manager for a large Healthcare client.

Location: FULLY REMOTE - EST/CST preferred.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead IT Project Manager to orchestrate several key cryptographic governance initiatives. This role is central to establishing an enhanced security posture and streamlined compliance across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong project management background combined with a deep understanding of cryptography and data protection to guide project direction and ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of the Cryptography/Data Protection Intelligence Layer initiative, including roadmap execution, milestones, and resource planning.
• Lead cross-functional coordination and vendor engagement to ensure aligned, on-time delivery and that all tollgates are met.
• Translate business and governance needs into clear requirements, use cases, and delivery-ready artifacts.
• Drive prioritization, risk management, and issue resolution across program workstreams.
• Provide cryptography and data protection guidance to the project, helping to shape use cases and align capabilities with business needs.
• Partner with leaders, vendors, engineering, security, and GRC teams to drive clarity and alignment.
• Produce project management and business analysis artifacts such as requirements, roadmaps, dependency maps, and risk logs.
• Present status updates to senior leadership and clear blockers in a complex project environment.

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.

Experience: 5-7 years of related project management experience, including proven experience delivering AI-enabled initiatives. Must have experience as a Project Manager on projects involving cryptography or data protection.

Technical Skills: Must possess technical fluency to engage in conversations about cryptography and DSPM. This role requires a business analyst and project manager mindset, not a hands-on technical implementer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects in a regulated environment.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
