Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid 3 days onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-state workforce of approximately 1,000 employees. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while serving as the Workday Payroll subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-cycle and off-cycle payroll processing.
• Oversee multi-state payroll compliance and payroll tax reporting.
• Serve as the Workday Payroll SME.
• Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, bonuses, 401(k), HSA, and adjustments.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and support month-end/year-end close.
• Process wage garnishments and resolve payroll issues.
• Support payroll audits, system upgrades, and process improvements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, HRIS, and third-party vendors.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience.
• Multi-state U.S. payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and compliance.
• Experience with payroll accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• CPP Certification.
• Experience with ADP SmartCompliance.
