Description: Controls Software Team | Global Controls Engineering, Building Technologies & Solutions

 About the Role:

Join a team transforming the future of intelligent buildings.

We are bringing Artificial Intelligence into some of the world's most complex and demanding environments, including data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, commercial campuses, and other mission-critical spaces. Our goal is to evolve smart building products into AI-native platforms that can reason about building operations, assist operators with intelligent decision-making, and accelerate how engineering teams develop and deliver software.

As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will play a central role in this transformation. You will be responsible for both building innovative AI-powered product capabilities and elevating AI engineering practices across the Controls Software organization. This role offers the opportunity to influence product strategy, architecture, and engineering excellence while working alongside software engineers, data scientists, and product leaders.

What You'll Do_ Your work will focus on two equally important areas:

Pillar 1: Build AI-Powered Products

As a technical contributor, you will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that create measurable value for customers and operators.

Responsibilities include:

Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models and GenAI capabilities across cloud, edge, and on-premises environments.

Develop LLM-powered features, including operator copilots, intelligent alarm analysis, automated recommendations, and natural language interfaces.

Integrate AI capabilities into existing smart building products and platforms.

Develop scalable inference and deployment architectures for production AI workloads.

Partner with software engineering and product teams to translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions.

Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve model performance, reliability, and accuracy.

Pillar 2: Accelerate Team Capability & Velocity

As an AI advocate and technical leader, you will help the broader engineering organization adopt modern AI practices and tooling.

Responsibilities include:

Identify and implement AI-assisted developer tools that improve software delivery velocity.

Leverage AI to enhance code generation, software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.

Establish AI engineering best practices, standards, and governance across teams.

Mentor engineers on AI technologies, frameworks, and implementation strategies.

Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and recommend opportunities for adoption.

Drive the responsible and practical use of AI throughout the software development lifecycle.

Preferred:

Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and prompt engineering.

Experience deploying AI solutions in edge or IoT environments.

Knowledge of MLOps practices, model monitoring, and AI governance.

Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), industrial controls, IoT, or smart building technologies.

Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development teams.

Why Join Us?

Shape the future of AI-enabled smart buildings.

Work on real-world challenges in mission-critical environments.

Influence both product innovation and engineering transformation.

Collaborate with a highly skilled, cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, and product leaders.

Drive meaningful business impact through cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions.

If you're passionate about applying AI to solve complex operational challenges and want to help build the next generation of intelligent building technology, we'd love to hear from you.
