Senior Applications Developer (.NET)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (90% Remote, 10% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract (Duration TBD)

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building scalable client/server applications using Microsoft technologies and a strong understanding of software development best practices. This role also requires hands-on experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI Extensions, AWS Bedrock, and Anthropic Claude to develop enterprise application features.

This is a 90% remote position with occasional onsite work in Phoenix, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise .NET applications supporting ADOR tax accounting systems.
• Develop scalable client/server solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Develop RESTful services and APIs following modern development standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Build secure applications following OWASP Top 10 security principles.
• Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure application quality.
• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools (GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI Extensions) to improve software development productivity.
• Develop AI-powered enterprise application features using AWS Bedrock and Anthropic Claude.
• Participate in code reviews, DevOps processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or
• Equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of software development experience
• At least 3 years of enterprise .NET application development
• Experience designing and developing client/server applications
• 1–2 years of professional experience using AI-assisted software development tools, including:
• GitHub Copilot
• VS Code AI Extensions
• Experience developing enterprise AI integrations using:
• AWS Bedrock
• Anthropic Claude

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

• C# , .NET Core , .NET Framework , ASP.NET , MVC Architecture , Entity Framework , ADO.NET , REST APIs , Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) , Dependency Injection , JavaScript , T-SQL , SQL Server , Azure DevOps and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS) , Unit Testing , XML/XSD (Complex XML Schema Definitions) , Application Security (OWASP Top 10) , Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

AI Development Experience (Required)

Candidates must demonstrate experience with:
