Key responsibilities:

  • Develop partner integrations and data-ingestion capabilities.
  • Design and integrate REST/HTTP APIs.
  • Work with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka and event-driven architectures.
  • Design services for resilience, scalability, security and observability.
  • Own solutions from initial requirements through to production.
  • Diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, traces and dashboards.
  • Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, testing and engineering improvements.

Key requirements:

  • Strong Back End engineering experience using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Practical experience building cloud-native services on AWS.
  • Experience deploying and operating services using Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices and third-party integrations.
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, including retries, timeouts, idempotency and rate limiting.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and production operations.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Experience within travel, marketplaces, E-commerce, data transformation or high-scale event-driven systems would be beneficial but is not essential.

Contract details:

  • Contract running until the end of 2026.
  • Rate: £560p/d (Inside of IR35)
  • Manchester-based hybrid working- one/two day(s) per week in the office.
