SW Engineer II (Mainframe/Cobol/Debit Card Processing)

Title: SW Engineer II (Mainframe/Cobol/Debit Card Processing) Location: Bridgeport, CT/Baltimore, MD/Buffalo, NY(Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Contract

Must have :

Skill set 1: Mainframe: Cobol

Skill set 2: cics

Skill set 3: jcl

Retail Banking exp. required as well as exp. w/ Debit Card Processing (ideally 10+ yrs. of exp. w/ this).

I want to clarify one thing on the CICS - we are not looking for Systems Development in CICS - we need Application Development in CICS. Systems maintain overall health of the mainframe and system whereas Applications use CICS to process transactions within specific applications. It's a key difference and niche skillset. Thank you

• As per the manager - What I m looking for is deep experience in Debit Card Processing, especially CICS and knowledge of:
• Real-time transaction processing (CICS / OLTP)
• Authorization / decisioning logic (approve/decline, balance, limits)
• ISO 8583 (card transaction messaging)
• End-to-end debit transaction flow (POS/ATM network issuer auth response, including reversals/holds)
• Online production debugging (trace a single debit transaction, analyze decline reason, follow across systems).
• Knows Mainframe & Distributed pieces - focus heavily on Mainframe
• Batch & online jobs on Mainframe
• Debit Modernization (a different team handles this, but there will be some interaction w/ migration to new system)
• CICS/Online Real Time processing & batch
• 6-months w/ possible extension, no C2H
• Must have MF / CICS (online pieces) / Cobol / JCL / Panvalet these are the main languages
• Focus mostly on real time processing rather than batch processing.
