Small Boat Engineering Technician Instructor | Chula Vista, CA | On-site | $28.44 - $35.01 per hour
We are looking for a skilled instructor to join a leading organization in naval training, dedicated to providing cutting-edge educational experiences for military personnel. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the next generation of maritime engineers.
The Role
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on small Navy watercraft.
- Operate and manage propulsion systems, including casualty control, both in-port and underway.
- Execute pre-start and post-operation checks for equipment.
- Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on training in propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems.
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of assigned work areas and craft.
- Adhere to high standards of safety and ethical conduct.
What You'll Need
- Six (6) years of experience as a Navy Engineman, Navy Construction Mechanic, Navy Electrician's Mate, or equivalent civilian experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform classroom and underway training, as well as maintenance.
- Qualification as a Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US Citizenship required).
- Willingness to work alternate schedules and occasional overtime.
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
