Overview
Talent Groups is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join an enterprise organization undergoing a major cloud and data platform transformation. This is a unique opportunity to start in a Tier 3 production support role and grow into the company''s first in-house Snowflake Subject Matter Expert (SME).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who is technically strong, eager to learn, and excited to help build a modern data platform. This highly visible role offers significant career growth and the opportunity to work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams while supporting a long-term cloud migration strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 support for enterprise applications and production systems.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Monitor production environments and drive continuous improvements to support processes.
- Support SDLC environments, deployments, and automation.
- Develop and maintain scripts, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Analyze system performance, logs, and production data to proactively identify issues.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, database, and business teams to improve system reliability.
- Support the organization''s cloud migration and growing Snowflake environment.
- Evolve into the primary Snowflake SME, establishing best practices across the enterprise.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise production support or IT operations experience.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with enterprise data warehouse technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments.
- Linux/Ubuntu administration and command-line experience.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with log analysis, monitoring tools, and root cause analysis.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Snowflake experience (preferred, not required).
- Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse platforms.
- SQL/PLSQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
- Experience with Git and deployment automation tools.
- Java application environments (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, NGINX).
- ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Python and PostgreSQL experience.
- Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives.
