Investment Analyst – Global Income Strategy – Boutique Asset Manager, London

Octavius Finance, a specialist recruiter within financial markets, is working with a leading long-only asset manager seeking to hire an Investment Analyst into its Global Income team.

This role sits within the investment team and offers broad exposure across global equity and fixed income investing. Working closely with experienced Portfolio Managers, the successful candidate will play a key role in conducting fundamental research, generating investment ideas and supporting portfolio decision-making across a diversified global income strategy.

The strategy invests across global equities and fixed income, with approximately 80% allocated to equities and 20% to fixed income. Research responsibilities are broad and generalist in nature, covering companies across the US, Europe and Emerging Markets.

This is a PM-track position – The successful candidate who demonstrates strong investment judgement, idea generation and performance will have the opportunity to progress into a money management role over time.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3-5 years' buy-side, long-only investment experience who is looking to broaden their expertise across sectors, geographies and asset classes within a highly regarded investment team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conducting fundamental research across global equities and supporting research across fixed income investments.
2. Analysing company financials, business models, competitive positioning and valuation.
3. Generating differentiated investment ideas and presenting recommendations to Portfolio Managers.
4. Supporting portfolio construction discussions and broader investment decision-making.
5. Monitoring existing holdings and identifying new investment opportunities across global markets.
6. Building and maintaining detailed financial models and investment research.
7. Producing investment notes, thematic research and supporting materials for the wider investment team.
8. Working closely with Portfolio Managers throughout the investment process.

Requirements

1. 3-5 years' experience within a buy-side, long-only investment role.
2. Experience gained within a global equity, thematic or cross-asset investment team .
3. Strong fundamental research and financial modelling skills.
4. Broad, generalist investment mindset with an interest in analysing businesses across multiple sectors.
5. A genuine interest in developing expertise across both equities and fixed income.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively within a lean, high-performing investment team.
