Job Description
We are seeking a senior-level Enterprise Data Steward to join the team in a high-visibility, client-facing role. If you are an expert at bridging the gap between business needs and data governance, coaching internal teams, and driving data quality frameworks, we want to hear from you.
Key Details
- Location: Richmond, VA
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
- Interview Process: Both Web Cam and In-Person interviews required
Core Responsibilities
- Act as the Primary Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for internal business divisions, leading conversations and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Stewardship & Governance: Guide business teams through complex data tasks, facilitating regular check-ins and driving the creation of data artifacts.
- Data Documentation: Assist users in creating and refining data dictionaries, business rules, and scoping documentation.
- Coaching & Literacy: Provide training and hands-on support to internal staff to build data literacy and stewardship competencies across the organization.
- Data Quality Prep: Help teams prepare their datasets for formal enterprise data quality measurement within a data governance tool.
Required Skills & Experience (8+ Years Minimum)
To be successful in this senior role, you must possess at least 8 years of dedicated experience in:
- Data Management & Stewardship: Deep understanding of data quality concepts, governance frameworks, and stewardship processes.
- Client Relationship Management: Proven success owning internal stakeholder relationships, setting timelines, and ensuring delivery of customer-driven outcomes.
- Cross-Divisional Coordination: Ability to manage competing priorities, facilitate group discussions, and maintain organized documentation.
- Non-Technical Translation: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of guiding non-technical staff through complex data concepts.
- Documentation Mastery: Hands-on experience developing data dictionaries and business rules.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Collibra (highly preferred, though training can be provided).
- Proficiency with standard productivity tools (Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
