Director of financial control operations: 3 to 6 months contract
Morgan McKinley is partnering with a PE backed software enabled business services organisation to appoint a Director of Finance Operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role sits at the heart of the finance function, supporting a rapidly scaling organisation through an exciting period of growth and transformation. The successful candidate will lead the finance operations function, driving finance transformation, strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and ensuring the finance function is scalable to support future growth. They will take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and improve reporting accuracy Working closely with the CFO and wider leadership team, they will support strategic decision making, optimise operational performance, and drive continuous improvement across the finance function. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with experience in a PE backed environment, ideally within SaaS or business services, and will be a high energy, engaging, and collaborative leader who enjoys working in a fast paced, evolving business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive finance transformation and implement process improvements across the finance function.
- Strengthen financial controls and enhance governance across the business.
- Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and ensure balance sheet integrity.
- Oversee month end, year end, and the timely delivery of accurate financial reporting.
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Develop and mentor the finance team while driving a high performing, collaborative culture.
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
- Previous experience within a SaaS business.
- Experience working in a PE backed environment.
- Proven background in finance transformation and process improvement.
- Strong financial controls and balance sheet management experience.
- High energy, collaborative, and hands on approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Immediately available or available at short notice.
