Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Salary: £44,600 per annumLocation: North LanarkshireShift Pattern: Backshift
- Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm
- Flexibility required for occasional weekend work
- Overtime paid at 1.75x standard rate
- Weekly pay
The Opportunity
An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Engineer to join its maintenance team at a modern production facility in North Lanarkshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment through planned maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and company procedures
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring stock is stored safely and correctly
- Communicate effectively with operational teams regarding breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance issues
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and promote safe working practices throughout the site
Essential Requirements
- Electrical maintenance experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with automated production equipment
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable Requirements
- 18th Edition qualification
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel
