Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Salary: £44,600 per annumLocation: North LanarkshireShift Pattern: Backshift

  • Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm
  • Flexibility required for occasional weekend work
  • Overtime paid at 1.75x standard rate
  • Weekly pay

The Opportunity

An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Engineer to join its maintenance team at a modern production facility in North Lanarkshire.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment through planned maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and company procedures
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring stock is stored safely and correctly
  • Communicate effectively with operational teams regarding breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance issues
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and promote safe working practices throughout the site

Essential Requirements

  • Electrical maintenance experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with automated production equipment
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport

Desirable Requirements

  • 18th Edition qualification
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel
