Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration Subject Matter Expert to lead contract-related application build and provide structured knowledge transfer within a healthcare insurance environment.

This is a hands-on SME-level position requiring deep experience with Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration. The consultant will work with business, operational, claims, contracting, and technical stakeholders to understand contract requirements, configure the appropriate Epic functionality, validate the build, and transfer knowledge to the client s internal team.

A current and active Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration certification is mandatory.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration.
  • Lead the design, configuration, and build of contract administration functionality within Epic Tapestry.
  • Review business and operational requirements and translate approved requirements into appropriate Epic configurations.
  • Configure contract structures, terms, effective dates, rules, relationships, and associated application components based on client requirements.
  • Support the configuration of contract-related pricing or reimbursement logic when included within the approved project scope.
  • Evaluate existing contract build and identify configuration gaps, inconsistencies, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with contracting, claims, finance, operations, and technical teams to validate contract requirements and system behavior.
  • Assess dependencies between contract configuration and related Tapestry workflows or applications.
  • Develop and execute unit-testing scenarios to validate contract configurations.
  • Support integrated testing, claims outcome validation, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
  • Investigate contract configuration issues and recommend practical, supportable solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of build decisions, configuration specifications, test results, dependencies, and outstanding issues.
  • Develop knowledge-transfer materials, configuration guides, and operational support documentation.
  • Conduct structured knowledge-transfer sessions for the client s analysts, administrators, and operational stakeholders.
  • Mentor internal team members on contract build, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Support implementation readiness, deployment, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities, when required.
  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and dependencies to project leadership.
  • Work independently and take ownership of assigned contract build and knowledge-transfer deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and active Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration certification.
  • Significant hands-on experience building and configuring contracts within Epic Tapestry.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a senior analyst, lead, consultant, or subject matter expert for Tapestry Contracts Administration.
  • Experience working in a healthcare payer, health-plan, managed-care, or healthcare insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare contract administration processes and their relationship to system configuration.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business or contractual requirements into Epic application build.
  • Experience testing contract configurations and validating expected system outcomes.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex contract build or configuration issues.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and delivering knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Ability to lead work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during Eastern Time business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a major Epic Tapestry implementation, optimization, remediation, or contract-build initiative.
  • Experience working with provider, vendor, payer, or network contract configurations.
  • Experience with contract terms, effective dating, pricing methodologies, reimbursement rules, fee schedules, or related configuration components.
  • Experience validating contract build through claims testing or reimbursement outcome analysis.
  • Familiarity with related Epic Tapestry applications, including Claims Administration, Accounts Payable Administration, Benefits Engine, Enrollment and Eligibility, or Provider functionality.
  • Experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, or other managed-care products.
  • Experience creating training materials, configuration workbooks, build guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Previous experience mentoring or training Epic analysts in a payer environment.

Expected Deliverables

  • Completed Epic Tapestry contract configurations based on approved requirements.
  • Documented build specifications and configuration decisions.
  • Contract-testing scenarios, test evidence, and defect-resolution documentation.
  • Identification and documentation of cross-functional dependencies.
  • Knowledge-transfer plan and supporting training materials.
  • Structured knowledge-transfer sessions for the client s internal team.
  • Transition documentation enabling the internal team to maintain and support the completed build.

Certification Requirement

Applicants must hold a current and active Epic Tapestry Contracts Administration certification. Candidates without this specific active certification will not be considered. Certification status will be verified during the screening process.

Work Schedule

This engagement requires 40 hours per week. The position is 100% remote, but the selected consultant must be consistently available and actively working during the client s established Eastern Time business hours.
