Project Description

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking an Expert Software Developer to develop and implement a mobile and cloud-based application system for the AGM Universal Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The selected candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end development of mobile applications, cloud integration, backend APIs, frontend interfaces, and ongoing application support.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and test mobile applications.
• Develop cloud-integrated applications using RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement scalable backend services.
• Build modern frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design sessions.
• Demonstrate iterative software builds to project teams and stakeholders.
• Document technical designs, development processes, and procedures.
• Support application testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Provide end-user training and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with development teams using Agile methodologies.
• Maintain source code using Git and participate in collaborative development workflows.

Required Qualifications

Swift Development (84 Months)

• Extensive experience developing applications using Swift.
• Server-side Swift development experience preferred.
• Swift Package Manager and dependency management.
• Swift Concurrency (async/await).
• Error handling and application architecture.

Web Frameworks (24 Months)

Experience with one or more of the following:

• Vapor

• Ruby on Rails
• Similar backend frameworks

Must have experience with:
