Job Description

Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Android Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade mobile banking applications. The ideal candidate should have experience building secure, scalable, and high-performance Android applications while following modern Android development practices. Experience in the banking or financial services domain is highly preferred.

Required Experience

  • 6+ years of Android application development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin (mandatory).
  • Experience developing and deploying applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Required Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android Architecture Components.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
  • MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture.
  • Dependency Injection using Hilt or Dagger.
  • RESTful APIs integration using Retrofit, OkHttp, or similar frameworks.
  • Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.
  • Android Jetpack components:
    • LiveData
    • ViewModel
    • Room Database
    • Navigation Component
    • WorkManager
  • Material Design implementation.
  • Local data storage using Room/SQLite.
  • Firebase services (Crashlytics, Analytics, Push Notifications) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Android lifecycle and performance optimization.
  • Unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, Espresso, and UI testing frameworks.
  • Version control using Git.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable mobile components.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA teams, and backend developers.
  • Consume REST APIs and integrate third-party SDKs.
  • Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and security.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and resolve defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
  • Follow Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security and banking standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of secure mobile application development.
  • Experience with OAuth2, JWT, biometric authentication, and mobile security best practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
  • Experience with SonarQube and code quality tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
