Quality Inspector 2

Location: Oxnard, California (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Inspector 2 to support our quality department. This role involves supporting repair and manufacturing programs by ensuring products conform to engineering drawings, quality management system requirements, and contractual specifications. This is a second-shift position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products.
  • Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional) on spacecraft components and sub-assemblies.
  • Utilize various measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines.
  • Make decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.
  • Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conforming material and assist in identifying root causes.
  • Inspect incoming purchased parts and materials against vendor certifications and engineering requirements.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and reports.
Required Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role is required.

Technical Skills: Experience is required with measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, and pin gages.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment to solve problems.
  • Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
