ISO 27001 Implementation Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced ISO 27001 Implementation Lead to drive the organization's ISO/IEC 27001 certification initiative across globally distributed business operations and customer-facing digital platforms.

Position location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC
Pay: $40-60hr; rate may be negotiable based on education, experience, geographic location and other factors

The successful candidate will lead implementation efforts, operationalize security policies and controls, coordinate with business and technical stakeholders, and ensure readiness for certification within an aggressive 6-9 month timeline.
This is a hands-on implementation role requiring demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale ISO 27001 programs.

Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership

• Lead enterprise-wide ISO 27001 implementation activities.
• Drive project execution against aggressive certification timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders globally.

Governance & Compliance

• Review and operationalize ISO 27001 policies.
• Establish and document security controls.
• Ensure control ownership and accountability.
• Create evidence collection processes.

Security Controls Implementation

• Work with infrastructure, cloud, and product teams to implement required controls.
• Validate effectiveness of implemented controls.
• Track and report remediation progress.

Audit Preparation

• Prepare evidence repositories
• Conduct readiness assessments
• Support internal and external auditors
• Remediate certification gaps

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years in information security, governance, risk, or compliance.
• Proven experience implementing ISO 27001 at enterprise scale.
• Experience leading certification programs in multinational organizations.
• Strong understanding of:
  
  • ISO 27001
  • Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)
  • Security governance
  • Risk management
• Experience implementing:
  
  • Security controls
  • Policies and procedures
  • Evidence collection processes
• Ability to drive execution across technical and business teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, medical device, or regulated industries.
• Experience with:
  
  • FedRAMP
  • StateRAMP
  • TX-RAMP
  • NIS2
  • C5
  • FDA/MDR environments
• Security certifications preferred:
  
  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
