ACOUSTICS CONSULTANT VACANCY
Accu Acoustics is seeking a new team member!
About Accu Acoustics
We are a three-person team working remotely and centred around Edinburgh. We usually meet in person for an office day once a week or once a fortnight.
We provide an excellent service to valued clients, while working on interesting and technically challenging projects.
We also work with a network of trusted co-professionals, allowing us to collaborate on projects that may otherwise be out of reach for a small consultancy.
We are seeking a new team member who will help us grow our business and fit into our close-knit team.
Role Description
You will:
Ø Undertake surveys, predictive modelling in CadnaA, data analysis and assessments for industrial and infrastructure projects, wind farms, BESS and solar developments, as well as a range of novel applications, in accordance with relevant guidance;
Ø Liaise with clients, using clear and accurate communication, to present results and maintain contact regarding future opportunities;
Ø Write and cost proposals;
Ø Be based in Scotland or the north of England, although for the right candidate based elsewhere in the UK we may consider the business case for alternative locations; and
Ø Operate safely and conscientiously, taking care not to put yourself or others at risk.
Candidate Description
You will:
Ø Have at least two years' experience in acoustics and be at least a technician member of the IoA, ideally AMIOA or MIOA/working towards MIOA;
Ø Have a close working relationships with your existing clients and take a keen interest in making sure that they are pleased with your work;
Ø Be confident in working autonomously both on surveys and when producing reports;
Ø Likely have a relevant degree in an environmental discipline, engineering, physics or maths, though other qualifications may be appropriate;
Ø Likely have completed the IoA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and the Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement; and
Ø Have a full UK driving licence and be a sufficiently confident driver to undertake solo site visits.
Ø Have the right to work in the UK.
A familiarity with MATLAB or other programming languages would be welcome, but not essential.

We work a 4.5-day week, with Friday afternoons off, while salaries are paid as if working a five-day week. We are highly collaborative and supportive, both within the Accu team and across our network of co-professionals.
