PHP Developer Basingstoke (Hybrid - 1 day onsite per week)<br />£40,000 - £55,000 per annumOverview<br />A growing organisation is looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join their internal technology team, supporting the development and enhancement of business-critical CRM applications.

Working within a cross-functional Scrum team, this role will deliver new functionality, improve existing systems, and support the continued evolution of applications to meet changing business needs.

This is an opportunity for a skilled PHP Developer to work in a collaborative Agile environment, delivering high-quality software solutions alongside developers, QA, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams.

Roles &amp; Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP (Laravel/CakePHP).<br />Deliver features end-to-end, including development, testing, and deployment.<br />Enhance existing applications, including legacy CakePHP systems.<br />Build and maintain APIs and backend services.<br />Write clean, maintainable code following development standards and best practices.<br />Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.<br />Support system design, integrations, and technical improvements.<br />Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with wider technology teams.<br />Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and reduce technical debt.Skills &amp; Experience 3+ years’ commercial experience in PHP development.<br />Strong experience with PHP 7.4 (CakePHP) and PHP 8+ (Laravel/Symfony).<br />Experience building backend systems and APIs.<br />Strong knowledge of MySQL, including queries and performance optimisation.<br />Working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS.<br />Experience with Git, branching workflows, and pull requests.<br />Familiarity with Docker and Linux/WSL environments.<br />Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.<br />Understanding of software design principles and coding standards.<br />Exposure to Vue.js/Nuxt, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, messaging technologies, or microservices is beneficial
