Job description

We are looking to recruit an RVN to join our wonderful team at Paxton Vets on a full-time basis.
We have a wide variety of clients and cases, and as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be involved in all aspects of clinical nursing, consulting and caring for inpatients, both surgical and medical, with full support from our Head Nurse, Practice Manager and seven vets. Each clinic has dedicated receptionists, along with veterinary care assistants to support the nursing team of five.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, take responsibility for nursing care for a range of first-opinion cases, contribute to clinical standards, and support the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

* 40 hours per week
* Shift pattern across 5 days covering a mix of early, mid and late shifts
* 1 in 5 Saturdays (8:30 am–5:45 pm) with time off in lieu

The day-to-day duties will include:

*Work closely with Veterinary Surgeons to support a variety of consultations and surgical procedures.

*Play a key role in delivering high-quality inpatient care, ensuring patients are comfortable and well looked after.

*Support patients throughout their journey, assisting with admissions and discharges.

*Use your nursing skills by carrying out nurse-led consultations and supporting ongoing patient care.

* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
