Business System Analyst /AX 2012 Functional Specialist

Your new company A well-established South Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Dynamics AX 2012 Functional Specialist to support a short-term ERP improvement initiative. Working closely with key business stakeholders and technical consultants, you will play a critical role in identifying business needs, translating requirements, and driving system enhancements within the Dynamics AX 2012 environment.

Your new role As the Dynamics AX 2012 Functional Specialist, you will act as the bridge between business users and technical teams, ensuring business requirements are effectively captured, documented, and translated into practical solutions. This is a functional, stakeholder-facing position rather than a hands-on development role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engage with stakeholders to identify business challenges, requirements, and improvement opportunities.
• Gather, analyse, and document functional requirements and business processes.
• Translate operational issues and business needs into actionable system enhancements.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external technical consultants implementing changes.
• Provide functional guidance across Dynamics AX 2012 modules, workflows, and system capabilities.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and requirement-gathering sessions.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation, and change management activities.
• Review configurations and ensure delivered solutions align with business objectives.
• Maintain clear documentation of requirements, processes, and system improvements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 in a Functional Consultant, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Application Support capacity.
• Strong understanding of Dynamics AX 2012 processes, workflows, and configuration.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, and documenting business processes.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical functional solutions.
• Experience liaising with developers, vendors, and technical consultants to deliver system improvements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management capabilities.
• Ability to quickly understand business operations and deliver outcomes within a fast-paced engagement.
