This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) contract position anticipated to last six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. Following the initial training period, this role will offer a hybrid work schedule, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week and on-site at the client's Kings Mountain, NC location a minimum of three days per week. Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Project & Cost Control Analyst - Capital Projects to support large-scale capital project initiatives through project controls, cost management, forecasting, compliance tracking, and reporting activities. This role will work closely with project leadership, engineering, procurement, construction teams, contractors, and finance personnel to ensure accurate cost reporting, budget management, estimate integration, and compliance with established project controls processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting industrial capital projects, maintaining project financial controls, analyzing cost performance, preparing forecasts, and coordinating project reporting. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering accurate and timely information to project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, along with 5+ years of relevant experience in project controls, cost management, financial analysis, or capital project support; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years supporting industrial or capital projects in manufacturing, mining, chemical, energy, heavy industrial, EPC/EPCM, or similar environments.
- Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, commitments, accruals, cash flow management, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience preparing management reports, reconciliations, variance analyses, and project performance metrics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, audit-ready documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large capital projects within manufacturing, mining, chemicals, industrial facilities, or infrastructure environments.
- Working knowledge of SAP, SAP Project Systems (PS), or similar enterprise cost management systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, or other project controls and reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with cost coding structures, estimate integration, change management, and schedule-cost interfaces.
- Knowledge of project controls methodologies, forecasting best practices, and earned value concepts.
- Professional certifications such as AACE, PMP, CCP, or related project controls certifications.
- Experience developing dashboards, automated reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of project governance, compliance requirements, and audit documentation practices.

The typical base salary range for this position is between $83,000-$124,800
