Job Title: AWS Solutions Architect / Integration Lead
Location: Schenectady, NY (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: estimated - September 1, 2026
Hourly Rate: W2 $60-$78/hr



Overview:

We are seeking an AWS Solutions Architect / Integration Lead who will support our NYS client. This role will design and govern foundational AWS cloud architecture with a focus on API-led and event-driven integration, interoperability standards, and scalable platform design. The consultant will provide architectural leadership for integrations involving Workday, DocuSign, and content management solutions while reviewing vendor-delivered work for alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and long-term business objectives.


Duties:

 
  • Design and maintain enterprise solution architectures using AWS cloud services and modern integration patterns.
  • Define architectural standards, design principles, and best practices for cloud-native applications and integrations.
  • Develop secure, scalable, and resilient architectures supporting transactional and event-driven workloads.
  • Lead the design and implementation of API-led and event-driven integrations across enterprise platforms and external partners.
  • Define integration patterns, messaging strategies, data exchange standards, API specifications, and reusable integration services.
  • Architect integrations involving enterprise business applications, Workday, DocuSign, content management solutions, and external service providers.
  • Establish standards for API lifecycle management, versioning, monitoring, governance, and security.
  • Design event-driven architectures using messaging, queuing, asynchronous processing, and publish-subscribe patterns.
  • Define interoperability standards, data contracts, schemas, interfaces, and enterprise information exchange practices.
  • Conduct architectural reviews of vendor-provided designs, deliverables, and implementation approaches.
  • Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, and optimization opportunities in vendor-delivered solutions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, technical teams, and implementation partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance to development and engineering teams.
  • Participate in architecture review boards, governance processes, project planning, technical estimation, and roadmap development.

Mandatory Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture, systems integration, or cloud engineering roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing solutions on AWS.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integration services.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as ERP, HCM, content management, workflow, or digital signature solutions.
  • Experience reviewing and governing vendor-delivered technical solutions and architectures.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and integration best practices.
  • Experience with security, identity management, and cloud governance principles.
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and architecture governance skills.


Desirable Qualifications:
 
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent cloud certification.
  • Experience with API management platforms and integration middleware technologies.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise interoperability standards and data exchange frameworks.
  • Experience with microservices and loosely coupled architecture patterns.
  • Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and vendor partners.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent cloud certification is preferred.
