Epic Beaker Analyst

6-12 Months Contract possible of extension

Key Responsibilities

Epic Beaker AP & CP Build

  • Design, configure, build, test, and optimize Epic Beaker AP and CP applications.
  • Configure:
    • Test Compendiums
    • Result Components
    • Specimen Workflows
    • Collection Workflows
    • Instrument Interfaces
    • Pathology Reporting
    • Synoptic Reporting
    • Outreach Workflows
    • Laboratory Billing Workflows
    • Quality Control Processes
  • Support laboratory workflow standardization and operational optimization initiatives.

Laboratory Workflow Expertise

Support one or more of the following laboratory environments:

  • Clinical Pathology (CP)
  • Anatomic Pathology (AP)
  • Histology
  • Cytology
  • Microbiology
  • Molecular Diagnostics
  • Genetics / Genomics
  • Outreach Laboratories
  • Reference Laboratories
  • Blood Bank Integration
  • Core Laboratory Operations

Implementation & Optimization

  • Lead full lifecycle Epic Beaker implementations.
  • Conduct workflow analysis and design sessions.
  • Translate laboratory operational requirements into scalable Epic solutions.
  • Support system upgrades, enhancements, optimization initiatives, and application managed services.
  • Participate in integrated testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live readiness, and hypercare support.

Laboratory Integrations

  • Support instrument and middleware integrations.
  • Collaborate with interface teams to troubleshoot HL7 and laboratory system interfaces.
  • Support connectivity between Beaker and:
    • Instrumentation Platforms
    • Middleware Solutions
    • Reference Lab Systems
    • Outreach Platforms
    • Revenue Cycle Applications
    • Clinical Applications

Leadership & Consulting

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to laboratory leadership and operational stakeholders.
  • Facilitate design sessions, governance meetings, and workflow reviews.
  • Mentor junior analysts and internal team members.
  • Lead complex laboratory transformation initiatives across multiple facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Epic Beaker AP Certification.
  • Epic Beaker CP Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years Epic Beaker build experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple healthcare organizations or laboratory environments.
  • Experience with at least one full lifecycle Epic Beaker implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MT(ASCP), MLS, MLT, Pathology, Laboratory Science, Nursing, Informatics, or related clinical background preferred.
