Lead Firewall Engineer | Glenn Dale, MD, United States | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 A leading provider of technology and digital solutions for government and commercial clients is seeking a skilled Lead Firewall Engineer to join their team. The Role • Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions using technologies such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto. • Monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats, ensuring network integrity. • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, conducting system audits for compliance. • Serve as a people leader for the firewall task area, guiding a team to ensure successful delivery of operations, projects, and assessments. • Collaborate with cross-functional IT, Security, and Network teams to seamlessly integrate firewall solutions. • Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall-related issues in a timely manner. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, with a strong background in firewall engineering. • Minimum of 12+ years of directly relevant experience, including 3+ years within a DoD environment. • Demonstrated experience in planning, directing, and managing a Firewall Team. • Advanced knowledge of perimeter and internal firewall implementation, both physical and virtual. • Proven ability to manage standard baseline configurations across numerous firewalls and evaluate rules for optimal security. • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. • DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification, and a Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification.
