Certified Lactation Consultant

• Location: Indianapolis, IN
• Facility: Ascension St Vincent Women and Infants Hospital
• Department/Specialty: Mother Baby Unit/Family Care Unit
• Schedule: PRN

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promote the importance of breastfeeding.
• Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assists with their development.
• Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding.
• Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Certification specializing in Lactation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences:

• Must be IBCLC certified
• Inpatient lactation experience highly desired
• NICU lactation experience
