•            Experience supporting the Salesforce and Account Engagement integration, including prospects, leads, contacts, campaigns, field mappings, assignment/routing logic, data synchronization, and data-quality issues.

•            Working knowledge of Salesforce platform configuration and declarative automation, including Salesforce Flow and the underlying Salesforce data model.

•            Ability to provide day-to-day operational support, diagnose production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and safely modify business-critical automations.

•            Experience gathering requirements and translating them into tested, maintainable Salesforce or Account Engagement enhancements and net-new components.

•            Ability to understand and reverse-engineer a mature environment, preserve existing business logic, and improve documentation and supportability.

•            Strong communication and collaboration skills across Marketing, Sales, business stakeholders, Salesforce administrators/developers, and IT teams.

•            HTML and CSS for customization and troubleshooting of marketing forms, landing pages, and email assets; JavaScript experience is a plus.

•            Salesforce development experience with Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components, or Visualforce.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS (continued):

•            Account Engagement API (including version 5), Salesforce REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, or integrations through middleware and third-party marketing tools.

•            Experience with Connected Campaigns, Salesforce Campaigns, reports/dashboards, and lead-lifecycle or sales-handoff processes.

•            Release management, source control, regression testing, and deployment practices for Salesforce changes.

•            Salesforce certifications such as Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist or Consultant, Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, or Platform Developer I.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

•            Process details are to be confirmed. The client is looking to move quickly because the contractor is needed ASAP.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The client is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Developer whose primary focus will be Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, the product formerly known as Pardot. This contractor will backfill responsibilities previously handled by a long-tenured team member and will assume ownership of a mature, business-critical environment. The work will combine operational support and maintenance with the design and delivery of new workflows, automations, and related Salesforce components.

•            Learn the existing Salesforce and Account Engagement environment, including inherited workflows, integrations, dependencies, conventions, and business rules.

•            Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot Engagement Studio programs, automation rules, completion actions, segmentation/list logic, lead-routing processes, and other marketing automation workflows.

•            Develop net-new automation and Salesforce components based on business requirements while protecting the stability of existing production processes.

•            Monitor and resolve connector, synchronization, field-mapping, validation, permissions, duplicate-record, and other data-quality or process-alignment issues.

•            Support marketing assets and lead-management processes, which may include forms, form handlers, landing pages, email templates, scoring/grading, campaigns, and sales handoffs.

•            Perform impact analysis, configuration/development, testing, regression validation, deployment, and post-release support for changes.

•            Partner with Marketing, Sales, business users, and technical teams to clarify requirements, recommend solutions, and prioritize support and enhancement work.

•            Create and maintain technical and operational documentation so the environment is supportable beyond the immediate transition.

OTHER NOTABLES:

•            This is an ASAP contractor need, and the budget is open based on the candidate''s experience and fit.

•            Remote candidates can be considered, but local candidates able to work hybrid in the Chicago north/northwest suburbs are preferred.

•            The client office will transition from Des Plaines to Northbrook in August 2026.

•            Success will depend on both technical depth and the ability to take ownership of an inherited platform with substantial institutional knowledge embedded in the current solution.
